I was born in the San Fernando Valley north of Los Angeles.
My first camera was a Sony Handy Cam with a flip out screen.
That camera went everywhere with me but mostly skateboarding and to punk rock shows.
One day I skipped statistics class and discovered the book Documentary Photography in the school library.
Seeing Dorothea Lange, Walker Evans, Lewis Hine, Gary Winnogrand and Diane Arbus changed everything for me.
Worked in special effects for a summer on some highbrow art films.
Moved to Santa Barbara and studied photography at the Brooks Institute.
Taught high school photography in Central Los Angeles and ran a hotdog cart on the side.
Moved to Austin Texas.
Started shooting for some of my favorite magazines.
Made a few short documentaries.
Started shooting high school football with Nike.
Now I direct commercials and tell stories with my camera.
Let's make something memorable together.
